Lice Clinics of America Announces New CEO

-New CEO Plans Expansion and Growth of Professional Lice-Treatment Services Network-

Salt Lake City, July, 2013–Lice Clinics of America, a leader in the professional lice-treatment industry and developer of the AirAllé™ (pronounced air-a-lay) lice-removal device, has named Claire Roberts, an expert in the launch and growth of early-stage ventures, as the company’s new CEO.

Roberts’ appointment comes on the heels of a major growth and rebranding effort by Lice Clinics of America as it continues to build and grow the world’s largest network of lice-removal professionals in 22 countries.

Roberts brings a wealth of experience in manufacturing, distribution, technology and medical informatics to Lice Clinics of America. Most recently, she was CEO of the NCAA-backed technology company ArbiterSports.

“As a woman CEO, I am especially keen to the strengths and the challenges of parent- and woman-centric professional services businesses,” Roberts said. “I am very excited to lead Lice Clinics of America in the continued growth and evolution of this unique technology and to make it available in every part of the world.”

The technology for the AirAllé device, which kills head lice and lice eggs using heated air, was developed in a University of Utah research lab. Lice Clinics of America is a successful spin-out from the university’s Technology and Venture Commercialization office.

Camps, schools, healthcare professionals and lice-removal experts around the world use the AirAllé device to treat lice infestations, heralding a shift from self-treatment of lice, which can be messy, time-consuming and frustrating, to a professional treatment. The technology also provides the exciting opportunity to serve as the basis or the expansion of professional service businesses, creating new jobs and revenue opportunities for entrepreneurs.
